Default Flowmaster Muffler?

ok...so my truck is now finally becoming something. I got an 08 black regular cab on 22s. I just got a complete Billet grill...not just some inserts...and it looks great!!! I would highly recomend it to anyone. But now Im thinking about putting a new muffller on it. Not a complete exhaust system...I dont got that kind of money. I just need something that sounds good and loud like a V8 for a couple hundred $. Im thinking bout a flowmaster 40 series muffler.Any suggestions? If i put it on, would i have to do anything else? I really dont know much bout exhaust or mufflers.

for only a couple hundred you can get all new pipes and a muffler for around 300 bucks so its not too bad

for half the price and in my opinion dynomax is a better producing better sounding and definitly much less money.i had both on my 03 durango and much perfer the dynomax. I went w/ a 3"catback which i had to have some of the pipe bent but did most the welding
myself.my cost was about 175$ for total parts and labor.my friend also had a durango that she had converted to a dual @ a local shop
cost her around 275. good luck w your project.if u just want the muffler i believe was 10 in shorter than my stock.
03 durango
4.7 w/ k&n cold air
dynomax 3" catback
32's

alright i got a couple questions for everyone. Hey bigramboy, what brand of muffler and how does it sound. Hey derricksmash, i see you got a flowmaster 80 series and dual exhaust...right? How much did it cost and can i just get the muffler and let it sound like that or do i need anything else like the dual exhaust? How did you install exactly, I see its for cars and it mounts sideways...what up w/ that? Also hey udi34, what model of dynomax, is it the turbo...what is it? Thx.

oh yeah...i found a place where they install a flowmaster 40 series, single in, dual out, with turndowns for around $140 in 30 min. Any thoughts on this???

for one, dont buy a 40 series for the v6 trucks....its gonna be loud, obnoxious, and not the v8 sound you want. It literally is almost impossible to make these v6's sound like their v8 counterparts...Just stick with a 50 or 80 series flowmaster muffler and get some of the new JBA headers...

the one im looking at is the magnaflow single input dual output it makes it have that rumble sound more on the V8 end then like the obnoxious loud sounds that don't sound "true"

^^

raminator, yea, the 40 series is too loud (i still think that's what's in my truck, even though it's an 80 series..). as for my setup, they just changed the muffler, and made some pipes come straight out the back. so, from the muffler to engine it is all stock. it cost me like $325. that included some big-ass slashcut tips (those alone were $35 a piece).

ok so i looked around this forum and found several threads about V6 rams and flowmaster 40 series exhaust. Also i found some other vids on youtube and it sounded pretty good to me. Most said that was probably the best for a v6 but i know it wont sound as good as a v8. I think im going to still with a flowmaster 40 single in, dual out so monday or tuesday im going to the shop and get one. It'll only take 30 min and $140 with turndowns and after tax. Ill let everyone know how it turns out. I hope youtube doesnt lie to me.
