Looking at getting a '92 Dodge Shadow for a commuter car. Its got the 5sp manual trans. What kind of mpg can I expect out of it? The owner is trying to tell me it gets 50-55 mpg highway. I'm calling BS on that, but would hope to get 30-35mpg. Is that in the range for this car?

It sure as hell wont get 50-55mpg, but yeah 28-35mpg is very possible, depending on how you drive it and how well its been maintained. Those cars are fairly reliable, get decent gas mileage, and arent exactly super heavy either.
I got 28 mpgwith a 94 spirit (bigger car) with an automatic without overdrive 2.5L
My dads got a 92 acclaim with a 3.0 auto and gets about low 30s with it.
