So I'm helping a coworker hang a whiteboard in our prototype/fab/workshop at work...and another guy comes to pitch in (engineers, like all men, greatly enjoy standing around and bullshting while others work), and happens to mention the new Ford F450 had just rolled in to replace our decrepit Chevy 3500 gasser. We haul a 40 foot gooseneck about 180 miles each way on a regular basis to test new tractor models on various types of grass, and the Chevy had just about had it. Blown tires, blown fuel pump, blown exhaust, slipping tranny, big block V8 could barely maintain 50 MPH up hills, two tanks of gas each way, etc etc...we needed a new truck. Now I know this is a Dodge forum, but those new F450's are s-i-c-k. We finished our whiteboard project and immediately went outisde to pop the hood, crawl around the cab, check out the features. All of a sudden it was lunch time, so naturally we took the truck for a spin. I got the honor of the first drive, and I was very impressed. Smooth as glass, the 6.4 PSD is whisper quiet compared to the old 6.0 diesel. Throttle response is almost instant, and when you tell that truck to go it goes like hell. For 22ft long and 9000LBS with passengers, it was amazingly easy to drive in traffic. It was pretty awesome to pull up behind cars and watch them almost disappear. I wish we had gotten a Ram, but no dealer in the SC/Georgia area had a 4500/5500 like we needed on the lot. Of course I was happy to see my Dak at the end of the day for the cruise home up I-26...but I'm pumped for the next chance to put that diesel beast to work. The End PS Flamesuit on.

Yeah, trust me, I am sure it rides nice and has awesome power with that 6.4 TT, but if you were to hook it up to a trailer, hands down the Cummins would pull it better and get better mileage doing it. Sounds like you had fun though!
