Well on my 03 QC their 6.5".....as far as taking off the door panels....its pretty simple....I think its 3-4 screws and lift off....make sure to un-clip the wiring harness for PL/PW and spker itself.....

6.75 but 6.5 will work, they make brackets for 6.5 speakers so you do not have drill to mount the speakers.

Our door speakers are 6 1/4 but 6 1/2's will work for speakers. i just replaced mine with some appines. i love the difference they are right on the change and how much better the sound quality is. there are 4 bolts one near the side mirror. one behind the door handle. and two at the bottom. The next thing is to disconnect the rod that is connected to the door handle. You need to either pop the cover off from where the power windows switches come off and disconnect the rod. then the last thing if you have a window crank like mine then you need to take the c- clip off then take the crank you and then take the panel off. you need to make sure that you disconnect the mirror connections and if you have power windows unplug that. After all that it is only three bolts that are holding the speaker in. you should get a bracket with the speakers that you need to mount to it and there should be instructions to do that. there is a connection to the speakers. then all you have to do is put it back together. good luck. if you need some pics i will try my best to get some posted.

i just replaced mine with a full kicker ss set. i have 6.5 copmonents up front with the crossovers in the door pockets. i had to trim my factory tweeter holes for the new ones. i love them. i put a 650watt amp on them. they absolutely scream. i love it. only problem is that i need a bigger sub cause the highs kind of over power. but its so worth it.
