i've changed the fuel pump cutoff relay and checked the pump. as soon as you release the key from the start position the fuel pump stops anf the engine dies, but if you flutter the gas it will keep running. not very good but will keep running. the only way to move the car is to start it in neutral get the rpm's up and drop it in drive.......help!

Had something in my 88 once. Changed the fuel pressure regulator and the injector in the TBI to fix it. You may or may not even have these in your version.
