Default 2.5L engine swap

hi all. just wondering if anybody had information about swapping out a 2.5L engine for a 4.7L? I have a 99 dakota sport, club cab. It has the 2.5 liter engine and it has really ****ty performance. how dificult is it to swap in a new engine?

If you have the money or access to a donor parts truck, not to bad. Engine, tranny, electronics, radiator, etc. Ever consider turbocharging it. With the amount of room under the hood of that truck, you could install a turbo set-up from an 2.5L turbo car. That would be a pretty slick engine package in a cruiser truck, but would suck if you towed or hauled with it.

In a truck? I'm sure I'm the first one to think of it. Someone at turbododge has probably done it.

if you can put a car turbo on a 2.5 dakota how about a neon turbo head on the 2.5 dakota? i have seen the neon 2.0 head on the 2.5 shadow. i think it was a 94 shadow, just a thought.there sure is alot of room under the hood of a dakota 2.5l
