OK, I dropped the 04 Dakota off this morning on the way to work for the state inspection with a whopping 37,980 miles on it. He just called before going to lunch to let me know that the front right wheel bearing has play in it. The left side is good. He knows we do our own work unless we're to busy or it is over our heads, so he isn't trying to make a buck. He is still passing it on the inspection, but wanted to tell me before he forgot. I have changed many of these assemblies on front wheel drive cars. My question, is that I have the 8/80 with a hundred dollar deductible. I don't know if this would be covered under the warranty, but, if it is, do you all think I could do it cheaper than $100 ? On the front wheel drive cars, we only changed the bad assembly, so I imagine it would be the same with the 4x4 ? It isn't like the ball joints as to where if the upper or lower goes bad, you might as well change them both ? I'd like to get some input from someone who's done the repair. Thanks

Thanks You can get a wheel bearing on ebay for like 100 bucks if it's not ABS, if it is, they sell for around 150... You can try. But if it's covered a 100 bucks is cheaper... Plus you don't have to go about busting your knuckles...
