View Full Version : 87 d100 parts truck
javatman 04-02-2008, 12:36 AM hello everyone i have a 1987 dodge d100 i havestripped parts off of to rebuild my 87 dodge d150 which is still a work in progress if you need a part and i have it i will sell it to ya.i still need money for other things i dont have usable parts for.i also have a complete engine i pulled myself out of a 82 dodge prospector which was running when i pulled it last year, i think it would be a good one to rebuild it is a 318(canadian built i think) the truck was used on a sweet potato farm most of its life. the 87 d100 still has the tranny in it and works good or it did when i parked it back in september 2007 i noticed the torque converter has slipped out somewhat and the fluid has drained everywhere after i pulled the motor and the cable i used to tie it up with strectched.the truck was used as a local pest control vehicle so it has been well used also. remember to think about shipping when you seek parts i live in northeastern mississippi. thank ya lots.
javatman 04-13-2008, 12:46 PM im gonna finish stripping this truck in the next few days then i am gonna hual it to the scrap yard i was told i could get like 150 bucks for the body and frame and that will be my new exhaust system....no more pulpwood truck sound yea! then i need a 4bbl intake and a carb for my little 318 and then paint this summer and new seat and so on.....anyways i wont be keeping the old parts truck .i hate to see it go but sacrifices have to be made for the better ofole bessy....

javatman 04-13-2008, 01:17 PM im absent minded here are a few pics i just ran out and snapped
1996Ram318 04-13-2008, 02:53 PM I would part it out, you`ll make much more than $150. The vent galss alone sells for $85, $150 per door. You can get alot more by selling parts.
nemesis_SS 04-13-2008, 02:56 PM need a passenger side tailight
javatman 04-13-2008, 08:49 PM nemesis the tail light lens on both sides are no good they are broken up.the bulb sockets and wires are in good shape.also for any further inquiries from anyone the headlight doors/bezels are no good but the bulb sockets and wires are in good shape. the ones on my truck also had to be replaced i bought them from partstrain.com through their ebay auction for 15 dollars a piece for tail lights and i got the headlight doors for 12 dollars a piece ......
javatman 04-13-2008, 08:55 PM wow 1996Ram318 i had no idea those little windows were so high the ones i have are in good shape. does that include the handle or is that just for the glass itself? i guess 20 dollars a piece would be fair then huh!
nemesis_SS 04-14-2008, 12:17 AM thanks anyhow man.
javatman 04-14-2008, 09:06 AM wow i posted some huge pics im gonna try to make them bigger so we can see better.

Check with your local salvage yard before you haul anything in. They are paying $120-175 a ton here in Kansas right now. Some of the places calculate the weight off of the title which is pretty much a rip off. The places you want are the ones where they weigh the trailer/truck going in and the trailer coming out and pay you for actual weight. You can also throw scrap metal in with it. I'm going to be hauling in some stuff for my uncle soon and have collected washers, driers, water heaters, etc. to throw in the back of a van we are junking.
I just got a parts truck for the cost of gas to pick it up. A friend of mine's dad had it. Ran and drove fine except for a tranny leak when it was parked a couple of years ago.

Yea, I hate to use that '85 as a parts truck. Rust free, highly optioned, one dent in the passenger rocker panel etc. But I need a 4wd. So the plan is to put the cab, engine, and front clip on my 4wd frame. I'd love to swap the bed too but when the PO put the flatbed on my truck they cut off the rear of the frame rail to make it fit!
