Hi all, just a continuation of my 4 page post tranny problems... Met with Westbury Dodges manager and one of the two techs who worked on my car. Apparently either they dont know there was a second tech on my car or they didn't want him in on the meeting. First dealer lie: My car had the wrong clutch My response: Did you know that your valet who drives the car around front when you are there to pick it up after hours ALSO gave me my old clutch off your workbench? It is identical to the original clutch that came out in 2006. They're both in my trunk would you like to see. dealer response: blank stare Second dealer lie: Your car had gear oil in it and that fried 3rd gear My response: If it did then when I came in for my $100 diagnosis and the car went on the lift. Isn't the first step to check the fluid level in the tranny? Why is it now taking 6 months to hear this for the first time? dealer response: I dont know who diagnosed your car so I cant ask Third dealer lie: The independent tranny shop gave you back a car with a bum tranny, charged you and you decided to bring the problem to us. my response: After contacting Chrysler corp. I was told Westbury Dodge lied to me, my car WAS under warranty. Get it out of the inde shop asap and bring it back to the dealer. dealer response: You should have let the tranny shop eventually realize thay had to replace the whole tranny ( aprox $5000 ) then we could have reimbursed you. I told the tech in front of his manager that I realize you cant say anything to jeopardize your job but I know that you know how foolish this all sounds. tech:No response. This banter went back and forth for an hour with no results. Lawsuit gets filed next week. $700 check from Chrysler corperate went out already to reimburse me for the clutch that was needlessly changed and charged to me. ( corp agrees with me but says they cant force the dealer to do anything ) Its a shame so many Chrysler employees have to count on people like these to sell their product. No wonder why so many Americans have jumped ship and bought foreign.

Give 'em hell, and don't give up. They know those trannys have problems. Anyone I talk to that has had major trouble with an SRT-4 it's always the tranny, never the engine (okay yeah sometimes it's a boost problem). I had a new tranny put in my 03 at 75K miles. And the dealerships constantly try to weasel their way out of honoring the warranty. I wasn't going to buy another Dodge but when I saw the SRT-4 was coming out it was hard to resist, and a good friend of mine is a mechanic at a dealership so I get hooked up but if it weren't for that I'd probably be driving a Nissan. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE my SRT-4!

You've absolutely got to love it when Corporate backs you up over a dealership.... the Dealership has zero ground to stand on, and I'd take em to the cleaners man......go for the throat...

most people probably would have given up by now, which is what the dealer would want. keep at them!

make sure to add an unethical buisness practice suit against them as well. I am in the process with that with an insurace claim right now. My lawyer figures he will add 5,000 onto the lawsuit for the unethical buisness practice.

yup, just beware that a dealership can drag out the court process on you, they can afford it.

Hi all. Went to court this past Monday. We were sent into mediation with a neutral 3rd party. Stories are exchanged. Their lawyer turns to the dealer mgr and asks him "what are you going to offer?" He says "nothing". Their lawyer does a double take and says "nothing?!" The neutral mediator has the same reaction. We now go back down the hall to the court room and await our trial. Pre trial the judge calls my wife and I up to the stand. She asks the same question to the lawyer about the offer. We get the same answer and reaction from the judge. The judge tells the lawyer to go talk to his client about not making an offer. He comes back and offers $250. I said no way am I taking that. She tells their lawyer that she wants to speak to us privately. She tells us that she reviewed all the documents, pix and reciepts. She was going to award us half of what we were asking and we have a great case...except...Well I cant tell the rest, just in case "they" are reading this too. So now, we are looking for a lawyer. Possibly calling in some tv news people that do those scam stories. We've already filed with better business bureau and consumer affairs report is going out tomorrow. My uncle says I should part the car in front of their showroom with lemons all over it. And I'm working on one or two aces up my sleeve. But this is NOT over yet. The judge moved the date back to June 20 to give me time to work the tips I recieved. I'll keep you all posted
