Default E85 fuel

I just got down here to missouri from alaska and I noticed that there are a lot of E85 gas stations with 10% ethanol mixed in the gas. Is this something I can put in my truck or do I need to get the conversion kit for it. There were no E85 gas stations in Alaska so I have never ran this gas in my truck before.

Your truck needs to have the Flex-Fuel engine to run E85. Here is a link for you to get better information: http://www.dodge.com/flexfuel/

Also, here is the link to the VIN ID for FFV vehicles. For the Dakota the 8th character of the VIN needs to be "P".

If it's 10% ethanol mixed with gas, that should be fine...

A LOT of states have 10% ethanol mixed in with the gas... it's retarded...

E85, iirc, is 85% ethanol, 15% gas...

yeah he is. I read it wrong. But now at least we know we can't run E85 (like we didn't know already).

Yup....

There was a test done... that proved E85 to be less fuel efficient and more costly over a long period of time...

It's pointless to use it, unless you're using it for it's higher octane rating.
