power steering leak - 3/26/2008 9:43:30 AM    hemiyellow Posts: 2119 Joined: 8/24/2005 Status: offline Ok well i've had a pretty slow power steering leak untill here recently. The other morning i went out and started the truck and it was pretty much as though i had manual steering...put some fluid in it, drove it about 5 miles and it's bone dry again....you guys know of any common issues with the steering box (common seals need to be replaced, etc...) basically i'm looking for a cheap & easy fix that will last me about a month so then that way i can add it to my list of other things needing to be fixed this summer....thanks for your input guys _____________________________ 04 Ram 2/4" drop, AEM CAI, SC 3815, Auburn LSD, 4.10 gears, ALI leather, SRT 22", e-fan, 180 t-stat, clear headlights, LED taillights, rear airbags, painted door handles Post #: 1

RE: power steering leak - 6/1/2008 6:16:14 PM    ramitupurs84   Posts: 17 Joined: 5/25/2006 Status: offline Well as of today 6/1 I just took my steering pump out and cleaned it up. On my it has the resevior on the pulley deal. I replaced the lines that were on it. They do have little rubber seals, in the "out". There are two lines on mine. I paid 24 something for the lines and some clamps at advance auto. The new steering pump is like 50 bucks.  I know the the bottom plug leaks like a sieve even after I drained it. I believe that could the trouble because I believe thats the out line. (in reply to hemiyellow) Post #: 2
