Flowmaster = overpriced chamber muffler...

Look into a straight through muffler, maybe an Aerochamber...

There was a test done on a Mustang, with all different types of mufflers on it, the flowmaster, surprisingly enough, was third to LAST in horsepower... last being no muffler... the Aerochamber was like third or fourth from the top of the list...

You CAN get a flowmaster, though, we won't stop you...

Don't do glasspacks they sound crappy with all that extra backpressure.  They are louder but I haven't heard too many that have a smooth sound to them

cherry bomb just came out with a complete set for our daks. might want to look into those. i had the dual catback on my fullsize and it was great. but what ever you decide, just buy the mufflers. then take the truck to an exhaust shop and let them bend and hang all the piping. it is cheaper then buying a kit for 500-700 dollars. my 3 inch single catback was 250.00 out the door. no sales tax because i paid in cash. i went with the imco set up. about the only out there at the time these trucks came out. go to www.grabthepower.com for set ups and sound clips

The Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers sound awesome on the 4.7l.  I had one on mine, single exit just in front of the rear wheel.

i just recently put a glasspack on mine. its a thrush and i love the way it sounds, its not too quiet and not too loud. i had both resonators and the muffler taken out and had the glasspack installed. i have the exhaust in the stock location with all the stock hangers and it exits in the stock location. i like it and for a total price of under 45 bucks it wasnt that bad. for me it was well worth it

Frenchy...don't you have dual Flowmaster's? Are you a dissatisfied customer?

I have a Flow 40 on my 3.7 and it's OK...I'd like to sample some others though.

I had a thrush glasspack on my old Ford 351 V8 Econoline Van.  It was cheap and it sounded really good.  Smooth nice low rumble, and not too loud.  I think you can get Thrush at Advance Auto Parts, sometimes they have them in stock at the store if not they can order them. I recommend them.

I like the sound of the magnaflows and gibsons...   Borla sounds good too,  but a bit pricey.

dont get borla or else i will hunt you down (in sand spring muhahaha) and slash your tires. i recommend a foldgers can, sounds great! see if they can get you some stacks as well. also i would get new tires and wheels, im thinkin some nice muddin tires and datons.... gold preferably, i wouldnt tint your windows (unless its mirrored) or get a tonneau cover, actually i would probably remove the bed and lower it as much as you can with those mud tires and datons. i would probably get some ghetto rice wing and mount it on the roof for added downforce.

Duals give you more horsepower, and single gives you better torque. I think that the glasspacks and cherry bombs sound too loud and eliminate alot of backpressure, so i went with the super 40 single out, it gives me much better towing and low end torque.
