did someone put 5.7 hemi in 1997 ram?
I have 3.9 and I wanna change the engine. how much the work would cost and is it posible?
thanks for any ideas.

it aint worth it man, a 5.7 crate engine is 10k, you can buy a new dodge for 15k with a hemi in it. A new engine won't help the tranny issues that will come with your dodge.

I dunno about 15k for a new Dodge w/hemi.  Maybe a newer one.  Anyhoo, this would be a time to find a wrecked donor, not go new.  If you can get the entire underhood section (engine, trans, harness, computers), then the hardest thing to do is sort out the wiring.  Also all depends on how mechanically inclined you are.  Fabbing mounts (engine, trans), custom driveshaft, etc., not for the inexperienced.  Wouldn't be cheap, either.  Would however, be a fun ride once sorted out.

truck month in Texas (every month) a rcsb with hemi can be found for around 15k. Remember texas sells more trucks than any other state by farrrr.
