Do you think the 09 ram will introduce a new 6.1 hemi? I think that would be awsome for dodge. Also it would put a end to the Toyota 5.7 iforce talking all that trash. Or maybe they will do what they did with the 3rd gen? keep the 5.7 for 09 like they did with the 5.9 in 02...Then Change it over from a 5.7 to 6.1 in 2010. What kind of numbers do you think a 6.1 hemi would produce in the ram?

The same numbers as it does in the Chargers [8D]

And to answer the question, no, it will not be in a 09. The new 5.7 will be in the 09 and that is all it needs. Dodge/Chrysler is done making "new", meaning newly designed cars, that get stuid low gas mileage. They are more concerned now with making money than making fun stuff.

yeah thats big "NO" for 09 and 2010...the 5.7 has been redesigned and has VCT (varible cam timing) so the 6.1 isn't an option...plus 2010 will be the introduction of the new CTD in the 1500

The only change dodge rams are gonna see is the 4.7 HO, not really new though right, the jeeps have had this for a few years right?

keep it simple
Chrysler first needs to survive,
and Cerberus is in trouble
for things they did outside of the Chrysler deal

Yeah thats too bad that the 6.1L Hemiwont be offered in the new Ram. But even if they don't offer one you can allways install a 6.1 from a charger,or jeep or get a 6.1 crate motor.

That is a lot of money and work for 45HP. Better served to get more our of the 5.7 or get a 6.4.

buy a 1994-1995 Ram with a manual transmission
put in the crate 6.1
put in a NV 5600 manual trans
repaint
install custom seats and interior

you will end up with better aero
better fuel economy
better acceleration
probably exempt from emissions tests in your area (1995 was last year of OBD-I)
and still be below the cost of a new pickup
and...being unique
will bring a higher resale value

Up to 380hp for '09, with a bunch of techno stuff.

Doesn't need to be done. Maybe an SRT down the road.

I can't see them changing this one either. They just upgraded it to 310 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque, which puts this motor back as a decent competitor.
