I thought the last of the TA's were rated at 375 HP, which would be right in line with your RWHP dyno number. As has been discussed concerning the Hemi Ram, thtorque converters are a bit inefficient. Several guys have changed to an aftermarket converter and found the missing HP's.

Right, but do you know how many and what mods have been done to them? I think they may have a lower HP rating, but I've read somewhere that the performance numbers would indicate otherwise.

the ones running high 12s either have your basics...exhaust, CAI, shifter..a chip...tires/rims...some havent done any of that, and just have a bottle...

there are a few that run very low 11s, driving in..other than them, im not impressed..

Cool, so now you can get the Vette engine in other cars as well...

Quote:
"LS2 V-8

The 2005 Corvette features the new 6.0L V-8 LS2 engine based on GM’s Gen IV small-block family. The LS2 is the most powerful standard small-block engine ever offered in Corvette, and features:

All-new 319-T5 aluminum deep-skirt block casting with cast-in-place iron cylinder bore liners and cross-bolted main caps
Cylinder head design derived from the C5 Z06
Camshaft lift increased to take advantage of increased head flow
Revised exhaust manifolds are 34 percent lighter
Compression raised to 10.9:1
More powerful engine controller incorporates all electronic throttle control functions
400 hp (298 kw)
400 lb.-ft. of torque (542 Nm).
The LS2 helps the Corvette achieve outstanding performance, including a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h), making it the fastest production Corvette in history. It reaches zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds, and in 4.1 seconds with the optional Z51 Performance Package, and covers the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds at 114 mph (183 km/h).

In ’05, the new LS2 also becomes the standard engine for the Chevrolet SSR (390 hp / 291 kw and 405 lb.-ft. / 549 Nm of torque) and Pontiac GTO.

Yes I have dyno sheets for the TA and the ram. The 317 rwhp stock would convert to approx 375 fly wheel HP with an 18% drive train loss. as far as 1/4 mile times. I sold the TA 2 months ago. it was making 431 rwhp/417 rw torque and ran 12.04@115. The new owner who put better heads and a bigger cam got 11.84@119 on the motor and a 10.82@126 with a 100 shot.

here is a link to our car club fastest list:
http://mofbody.com/fastest/list.htm

The fbodies with LS1's are a lot faster than what some of you think.

Go to my album if you want to see pics of my old TA.

ive seen your pictures, you have a modified hood, right?...and while i dont doubt that a modded fbody can fly..ive also seen an 8 second neon, with a 4 cylinder....im saying stock, for the cost..my car only runs 12.60s this past year...but i also consider the price difference..

That GTO is the most laughable pos I've ever seen. It looks like a boat with wheels or something. Where's the good supercar looks to it? Or any good looks period???

Yes it has a VFN 4" ram air hood. Just so you know, I do not like the looks of the GTO's either. No argument about the cost of the LS1's. I will probably build a mustang for my next toy or a C5 vette. Mustang parts are a lot cheaper in price than LS1 parts. To me, it doesn't matter what you race, its the racing that matters. We like to say "run what you brung"
