Default CHARGER SRT-8 USED? OR NEW?

Hi everyone I'm new to these forums,

I am thinking about picking up a used Dodge Charger SRT-8 (2007) for around 32,000 instead of 39,000 new.

Is this a good idea? How important is that 3 year warranty? Has anyone had any expensive repairs after hitting 20-30k on this car?

Thanks.

Will

I love how much you save on used vs. new. As long as you get a good interest rate, sometimes it's tough on used cars compared to new.

As far as the warranty...you've only lost a year. If your buying from a dealership, I'm sure you could "add" an extended warranty. I did this...6y/60000m(actually 73000m because it had 17000m). I'm actually under the factory still.

New would be pretty dumb IMO. You get hit with all the drive-off depreciation as well as a nice large gas guzzler tax (was $2100 on the last new one I saw).

I went with a 2-yr lease on mine. CSRT8s are sitting on dealer lots and I didn't want o be stuck trying to sell mine when I was done with it. Gas prices are probably going to go up even more and that will only hurt the value of these cars. Oh, and after a 2-yr term, I'll be right at the end of my warranty. Works out perfect for me!

yes, the interest rate mightbe a little higher. Need to shop around for these. My bank offers the same rate for new or up to 2 yrs old.

used is the way to go. i saved 10,000 on my 06 charger in 07. i have 36,000 miles know and i drive the car the way its supposed to be driven. i bought the 60,000 mile extended warranty because you dont want to own a used car if the previous owner drives like i do.
