Default BACKFIRE, DETONATING ISSUES

I HAVE AN 04 SRT4, 45,000MI, STAGE 1, 3IN DOWNPIPE WITH CUTOUT,BORLAS,MOPAR BOV, IM RUNNING 18PSI, AND I HAVE BEEN TURNING DOWN BOOST AND TESTING, WITH THE CUTOUT OPEN AND CLOSED AND I JUST KEEP BACKFIRING AT HIGH BOOST, MOSTLY HALF TO WOT IT IS DOING THIS, AND IM ALMOST AT A DEAD END,I HAVE CHECKED PLUGS, AND THE GAP,AND WIRES AND IF ANYONE CAN HELP OR THROW SOME IDEAS AT ME IT WOULD BE AWESOME? ALSO WHEN MY CAR GETS HOT THE IDLE WILL JUMP A COUPLE RPMS, AND SOMETIMES WITH WILL HOLD AT LIKE 3 GRAND AND WILL TAKE A SECOND TO GO BACK TO NORMAL, AND WHEN IT DOES THIS, MY BOOST GUAGE BOUNCES AROUND TO 20 TO 17 VACCUME.....EHH THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY, AND I JUST KEEP TURNING BOOST DOWN THINKING IM OVER BOOSTING, AND IT STILL REALLY HAS NOT HELPED, I TURNED IT AGAIN TODAY, AND IM HOLDING AT 15 PEAKING AT 18...

I DID tHAT, AND IT STILL DOES IT, im pretty sure my holding idle is a tps problem, but my backfire/detonating problem is making me nuts....and on my wastegate, the rod, I HAVE BEEN TESTING WITH THAT, and i was told making it longer will lower boost, and making the rod shorter will raise my boost....is this true, or am i ****ing **** up? haha

i would change your wastegate back to the stock one also. Just keep elminating parts untill you find your answer. I know this is a dumb question but did you put 87 octane in it or something. Could be bad gas also i suppose.

the stock wastegate isnt adjustable. Did you put a new wastegate on there or did you buy the car like that.
