Ok, we are in need of some new tires, as the front ones are shot to heck. The rears are ok, but we are looking to have a matching set on the truck for once, the previous owners put mismatched tires on. We are debating between an A/T and a Mud tire, I am looking to keep stock size, 31-1050-r15. I am not wanting to go too expensive, but want a decent tire. I was looking at the BFGoodrich A/T KO and the BFG mud tire, anyone have any experience with these, or would you recommend one over the other?
Thank you,
Bear
*EDIT* This is for a 99 D 5.2 part time 4x4, all stock at the moment.

Yep, those M/Ts I personally dislike. Also, you don't often get many miles off them as you would the A/T.
I like Michelin M/S tires as well, but those're usually more expensive and will corrode aluminum rims if not kept with Nitrogen.
The Michelins will get often more than not way over the miles on the tire it is rated for. From personal experience they usually double their rated mileage.
It really depends what you do more.
If more on-road than off, T/As
If more off-road than on, Toyos
If just on-road and no off-road, the T/As or M/Ss(You will get more bang for your buck from the Michelin's if properly kept up... rotates, proper air(nitrogen)..
you recommend the toyo's for more off than on, why is that? I like the look of the toyo's, but dont want to spend the money on a tire that would not hold up to daily driving. We will be running this truck off road, as much as we can, but it is also a daily driver. I like the look of the BFG AT's too, so we may be going with those. Thank you again for the help
I would go for the A/T's. I personally own 3 sets of them in my lifetime and the treadwear is amazing even with abuse, I still got almost 60k miles per set. The M/T's are strictly for mudding so if you are gonna mud around most of the time, go with the M/T's, otherwise, the A/T's are good for most road surfaces.
The M/T's are also rough riding and noisy. Maybe you can own both sets and just swap out your A/T's to M/T's when needed.
