RE: srt4 bodykit?
I hope you build it up to be as fast as an SRT-4 before you get it looking like one, because I don't want to here about a bunch of ricers talking about how badly they beat this SRT-4 and it's because it wasn't an SRT-4 that they ran. It's kinda like getting one of those Lamborghini kit cars with a VW engine or a V6 in it, all of the looks with none of the performance. I'm sure actual Lamborghini owners get kinda pissed about that since they paid $250K to get the real deal and Joe blow can get a clone that looks the exact same for only a few thousand.
The factory now offers an SRT design group option that is available on the SXT models. This option is a body kit that looks like the Dodge SRT concept car, the concept version of the SRT-4, and that pisses me off. Now the SRT-4 look will be everywhere and there's going to be tons of ricers out there running against them thinking they're SRT-4's and those of us that have them are gonna have to put more of these ricers in their place, far, far behind us.[sm=smiley15.gif] Maybe it's not all that bad since I'll be getting more ricers to fall when they think they can win, it's great fun when they're cocky and get beat.[sm=icon_rofl.gif]
A friend of mine had talked about making his Satellite Sebring look like a Roadrunner, they have the same body just like the Neon and the SRT-4, at one time. I just about knocked his teeth in when he told me that, I told him that I would beat the crap out of him if he ever did such a thing unless he makes it as powerful as a Roadrunner first, then he can make it look like one. Otherwise it's being a ricer, the definition of a ricer is one that makes a car look faster without making it much if any faster. And making a lower model look like a top end model without making it perform like the top model first is the definition of a ricer. Just like making a 4 cylinder Mustang look like a Cobra when it is still a stock 4 cylinder, it's just not right.
Here is a picture of the Neon SXT's SRT design group option, followed by a picture of the SRT concept car and then the actual SRT-4 (there are a few slight differences between them all):
