Hey to all !

got another question for you all:

Just ordered a navigation radio (REC) system for my charger off ebay for what seems like a real good price ! I currently have the RAK radio in my Charger.

My ? being - is there anything i need anything else to hook this up and working like the sirius 100% ? the deal includes the radio, black bezel and the map CD!

the reason i ask is that i just replaced the silver bezel for a black one and took a look at the radio and it doesnt seem complicated at all - just want to make sure that i can still get my sirius to work (HATE COMMERCIAL RADIO) even though i gotta subscribe to it now (hopefully i can call them and have the balance of my first free year transfered)

Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like you will probably need to get the satellite antennae.

I once looked through an installation manual online.  It was at a place that was selling the radio as a package.  It showed a GPS antenna located under the dash by the heater vents.  The satellite radio signal antenna is on the top back of the car centered above the rear window on the outside of the car.  If you already have one of these, it probably will not be a problem.  The navigation DVD disk is another problem... Look and see what the revision letters are on it.  The last one I know of is AE.  The progression, oldest to newest is AB, AC, AD, AE.  The old disks have crappy "10 year old maps"... Google it and you will see my comments...

hey IXLR8

thanks for the heads up ! I DO have the flat black antenna on my roof just in front on the back window.

hopefully thats all i need because when i replaced my radio bezel it looked just simple plug and play. was just wondering about the NAV aspect.

havent got the unit yet but am gonna ask him to tell me - i know they are alot of money to replace. hopefully when i get it i can use one of my  DVD copy programs to make an honest backup (one for home. one for car)

I used Alcohol 120% Software, and it made a perfect backup.  I am using the backup, and put the original in the house.

Make sure the GPS transmitter is included....
