Whats the most miles youve gotten out of a single tank of gas? pizza442 02-01-2008, 02:24 AM In 12,500 miles since new, about 460 miles on the 26 gallon tank. Std cab/short bed 6speed. Mostly freeway, but some city thrown in. I have no doubt that I could get over 500 on a trip to Vegas--and back. Of course I have no need to do 80+; I have other fun cars for speed!. The QC's with the V6 have a harder time. Wonder if the sticks get better than autos? sbushek 02-01-2008, 03:10 AM The best ive gotten is about 330 on a 22 gallon tank....Its a single cab 3.7L V6. Im running 22" so it might have an effect as well. Big#44 02-01-2008, 01:07 PM I thought they all had 26 gallon tanks. ive got 2005 single cab, and im pretty sure ive got a 26, even though i used to think it was 22. and man you got 460 miles!?!?!!? right now im trying to aim for 350, the closest ive come is like 330-340. Wishbone 02-02-2008, 08:30 AM 2wd, reg. cab with 26 gallon tank and most is 385 miles. pizza442 02-02-2008, 04:36 PM I always try to keep at least 35 lbs. air in the tires, up to 38. They are the stock 17" with Goodyears (I like the michelins better!) Keep cruising rpm's at or under 2000 rpm. Since mine is a 6 speed strippo with no options (no carpet even) so it is light. 3:21 diff. What do the 4 speed autos come with? Big#44 02-02-2008, 11:49 PM pretty sure my auto has the 3.55 phillipguru 02-03-2008, 03:30 AM I just bought my 2008 Electric Blue Short bed 2 door 1500 v6 on the 1st and I have gone 208 miles and i am at half a tank exactly. I think i can get about 400 miles a fill up with a gallon or two to spare. I think i have the newest ram v6 on the forum. I went from a 2006 civic lx coupe to the Ram. I absolutely love it. phillipguru 02-03-2008, 10:26 PM I have hit 330 miles and I still have a full 1/4 tank of gas left. Still on my trucks first tank of gas..... Cant wait to cry when I fill it up myself for the first time. JimmyDiablo 02-03-2008, 10:28 PM ORIGINAL: phillipguru I have hit 330 miles and I still have a full 1/4 tank of gas left. Plus diesel is about 60 cents more then unleaded in my area. [:@] Thank god I can get waste vegetable oil for $1.50 per gallon and mix it nicely. :D I have gotton a little more then 560 miles on one tank mostly highway phillipguru 02-03-2008, 10:34 PM yeah its the short box 2 door 26 gallon. JimmyDiablo 02-03-2008, 10:36 PM nice. I actually want to add a secondary 50-90 gallon tank to mine. phillipguru 02-03-2008, 10:41 PM I have never owned a truck, I have had Cadillacs, Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, now this Dodge I have never liked a vehicle so much as I do this stupid inefficient torqueless monster. Secretlover 02-04-2008, 04:03 PM I was getting about 450 miles per tank when I was traveling to a from work and it was all highway. When I went to driving in the city it went down to about 350-375. I have the STD cab V6 six speed. Petz 02-07-2008, 08:59 AM Traveled from Tulsa to Springs, Tx (north of Houston). Put in a full tank of gas before leaving Tulsa and hopped right onto the freeway from the station. Drove the entire way down via highway and did not stop. Got to uncle's house on fumes... total was approx 460 miles. Running on 17" stock tires and running with cruise control set at 5 over speed limit at night/early morning. Departed Tulsa at about 11:40pm phillipguru 02-10-2008, 03:34 PM I just did my 4th tank of gas in this beast. Raven exhaust (flowmaster clone) and mostly hilly highway driving. I did 390 someodd miles and filled up with 20.2 gallons. I just put in a K&N drop in on the way home from work today. Hopefully i'll be able to get 20mpg no problemo. bchap05 02-14-2008, 05:00 PM 499 and I'm pretty sure I was close to running out of gas.Probably 350 or so of it was when I wascoming back from Vegas and drove 65-70 the whole way. The last 150 miles or so were driving around town. babyblackram 02-23-2008, 11:40 PM i just bought my truck teusday, they filled it up it. it had 4 miles on it when i drove it off the lot( after test drive too.) my fuel lite came on today i now have 431 miles on it hwy and city and if its the same as my hemi i traded in i should have 2 gallons to go one the lite comes on, does any one know if this is true for these truck as well. iam about to put my aFe intake from my hemi on it so we will see if that helps at all. perfectlytuned 02-25-2008, 10:11 PM 400+ miles(dont remember exactly)with the stock 29 inch tires. Trabuco canyon CA to Pismo dunes, i think it was the ventura freeway... wat a weekend vaughn35 04-29-2008, 12:32 PM my truck has 5400 miles auto v-6 from a full tank to half i got 250 miles... im going to see if i can get 500 miles from a full tank ill report back texbigb 04-29-2008, 01:54 PM wtf is wron w/ u guys trucks...i only get like 290-300 miles per tank... BRINKLEY 05-15-2008, 05:36 PM I average 350 miles per tank, 90% driving is done around town. And the 350 miles is when the gas hand is on the out of fuel line. I have been trying to keep my RPM's under 2000, but damn, it sure is hard to do. I used to get mad when people would take off from a light and take their time getting up to speed, but when I can't even fill up for $75, I don't care what people think about me. lol I bought my v-6 for better gas mileage...... it is better, but not much is worse than the 11-13 mpg I was getting with my 5.9 liter.... sigh. prolly won't be getting another ram due to the pissy ass gas mileage they get.... thats on down the road though. marv02 05-15-2008, 07:08 PM Ha Ha same here I purchase the 3.7 for Gas mileage also I should of keep my V-8 Ford it would of been paid for by now. Never again a V-6 in a full size truck. Yes I get better MPG than the Ford V-8 but it was not worth trading in for this truck after all at least the Ford had enough power to get out it own way. I found out the hard way go to the Truck fourm first before buying a new truck and see what others have to say about it Buyer Beware. Now I get 400 tops with no mods. madj80 06-29-2008, 12:03 PM Just filled up 23.5 gallons in my V6 yesterday which got me 432 miles. babyblackram 07-14-2008, 12:08 AM now that i have had my truck a few months and i drive the same drive every week. i can make it from tulsa to colby,Ks which is around 460+ miles. about 10-20 miles before i get there my fuel light comes on and from my experience i will still have 3 gal left when i fill up there. my truck is std cab 6 spd all stock. i average 70-75 mph all hwy.
