Well there are no exact problems any realy have but just watch out for high milage and everthing will be good. Some goodyears towatch for are in 92-up first year of magnum engines, with multiport injection. V8 avalible with plenty ofpower too.

All the years were pretty good. The magnum engines like Crazy said are tough motors. My 3.9 always took a licking and kept ticking. As far as the rust areas, the only spot I had rust forming was just behind the plastic fender flares, that was when the truck was 14 yrs old (so it was allowed to at that age), butit all depends on how well it was taken care of.The flaresseemed to collect mud, water, and salt on the under lips and rust out there, but I guess if the prev. owner kept it clean then no worries. Good luck.

i bought my 89 in 1989, the only issues i have are paint peel and that the early first gens were slugs in the passing lane. likes been said the 92 and up have more power, and if i were to do it again i would probably go with a standard, early first gens with an automatic do not have enough power for four wheel drive. other than that, i changed the plug wires last summer from the stock origionals and she runs great. i only used the truck for fishing trips and to occasionally tow the boat for most of its life

i'd stay away from the old 3.9's . I've just had bad luck with them.

I think like crazy said the early V8magnums are a little better only because 92-93 we had bigger exhaust ports so we have 230HP instead of 220HP from 94-96

The 92-93 V6 Mags had the same characteristics of having bigger exhaust ports than the 94-96 Magsalso.

92/93 v6 at 180 hp verse 125 hp for earlier 3.9 v6 makes a huge difference in the passing lanes. other than that i think they are both sound engines, i would buy either with low mileage
