So im debating on getting Borla exhaust, or possibly going with flowmaster. I've seen some of the vehicles with Borla on them and they sound just amazing. But I just want your guys opinions on this subject. Do you have Borla/Flowmaster installed on your vehicle? What does it sound like compared to others that you've heard.

Thanks

If I had to choose between the 2, I would say Borla, Flowmasters are too raspy for me, although if ya want something better than those 2 go with magnaflow, now thats a nice nice sound.

Is Borla more sporty sounding then flowmaster? I know i've heard some trucks with the super 44 on them and they just roar. Noise wise if you want the roar then go with the 44 or 40 series. I think I seen a vid of a dakota with the Borla exhaust. It was smooth I must say.

Not sure if the Super 44 from flowmaster sounds any better.

I go with flowmaster just cuz they are not filled with fiberglass or whatever you want to call it.  Flowmaster is just a muffler, it is not packed with anything to make it sound different.  Also packed mufflers hold the heat in more than no packed.  When I put on a muffler it is not just for the sound and the better mileage, it is to help keep things cooler as well.

I think the magnaflow only sounds better on a V8. Otherwise I'd get the flowmaster.

I've been trying to decide which to go with too. I still need to do a little more research myself.

You have to remember that the truck in the video was an R/T. I don't know what motor you have but unless it's a 5.9 R/T, it's not going to sound exactly like that one. It did sound nice though. Good luck on finding what you want, keep this updated and let me know what you decide....it might help me out too.

Yeah its only a 5.2L. Right now I have a flowmaster exhaust, but im not so sure as to what series it is. Also, I thought I read somewhere that putting in a CAI also helps with the sound of the exhaust. Not so sure if this is correct.

borla is amazing exhaust sounds awesome but most of them are quiet im not a fan of flowmaster really anymore the 40 is pretty loud and i heard the 44 is just quieter on the inside and deeper. i have a hooker aerochamber its chambered like flowmaster but you can see straight through it it has an awesome sound to it and is loud on the outside but not to bad on the inside im guessing like a flowmaster 40 delta series. i just dont like flowmaster because chambered mufflers aren't the best for power increase but like i said the one i have you can see right through.

Flowmaster thought enough about the
Hushpower company that they recently bought it
and have begun heavily advertising the
Hushpower II mufflers:

http://www.hushpower.com/technology.html

I assume this means that this muffler design is superior to the Flowmaster traditional ones.

This X muffler from Dynomax is also worth considering:

The all stainless steel construction Borla has an advantage in durability.

Both are good companies.
Flowmaster has been in business for a long time and they are known for being in v8's
I say go with flowmaster.  I put a 40 in place of the stock muffler and left the exhaust the same stock size, no duals and you would not believe how it sounded.  You would have thought I put duals on it.

Im not really so much worried about the loudness. I just like the sporty sound of Borla. Its like a purrrrrr, until the revs get higher. Then its just sexy.
