Does anyone plan on getting one of these new rams?? I personally like em but i'll have my truck for some time... My dad is planning on getting one though...

I'm truly considering it. I'm in a job now where I can afford a car payment but I'm just very hesitant on jumping into somehting like that at age 19. specially with college. so right now i'm just basically trying to save money. my budget is 100 bucks a month total for gas and food. the rest of my paycheck goes into savings towards this truck.

yea just keep saving for a beautiful down payment... my next truck will be in like 4 years... im in college too... and i want an 05 CTD.... lol if i was going gas again this would be it though... they're really nice and 94rt10ohio i completely agree DON'T PAY STICKER!

it's been rough I havn't aten in about two days lol. but I spend 80 bucks a month in gas soooo that leaves 20 bucks for food. but it's so worth it. plus a little weight loss isnt' a bad thing either lol.

well this one wont' be a gasser depending on that new ctd. if it has a stick shift i'll get that. if not I probably go 4.7L. I drive the old man's 4.7 a lot and that's the 06 version with 235 hp. and that thing striaght moves. 310 hp makes me excited.

i like the new ram, but dont think i'd own one...when the time comes to buy a new vehicle i'll wait until 2010/11 when the good version of the challenger comes out :D :D:D

My father is planning on getting one, he is really looking into an 09 Laramie with the new CTD to get as his "nice" truck and keep his 98 1500 for his work truck.

Not until I pay off my 2007. I have been hearing alot of complants about it so far. I like it the back end is the cool'st I've ever seen on a truck. More power better fule economy more storage better ride. 0-60 in 6.1 the best truck on the road. They had to do somthing with their inside look I really dont mined my 07 but all the comparisons put dodge last for it's int. It dose look alot like Ford on the inside but Ford has had the best int for a long time so Doge will be right there now. Proformace is were it is at for me and the new 09 will be the best proformer on the road.

they sure do looks nice and sweet. but i plan on living with my 07.5 for a long time. unless it gets wrecked or some other kinda bad stuff like that. but it would be nice lol

I would get one, but after it was out for awhile and only if it was the diesel. I am excited for that. Hopefully by the time I can afford one they'll change to something more like the current look.

I wont be - I don't like the looks that much and I really don't like the interior - I plan on driving my mega past pay off - unless I come across a sweet deal on a CTD Mega - when it comes time to buy another new truck the mega will be a hunting/ranch truck and I dont have a clue what my next truck will be.

id really consider getting one when the hybrids come out in 20010 pending on pricing. i always liked the ram but dont feel like spending all that money on gas.

I could take a Wrangler places your truck can only dream of :D

Although that is not why I would buy it. They do well in the winter, are quick to clean and you can pull the top, doors and put the windshield down in the summer.

How do you figure?? The 4.0 straight sixes that came in them were torquey, bullet proof motors. The new ones with the 3.8's arent the most powerful, but in something as light as a jeep they hold their own.

I think getting a 2009 might be a risky venture - it seems like the first year is always a risky venture with any make or model. A 2010 might be worthwhile though - IF they get the bugs worked out in the first year. Overall, I like the truck, but I'd prefer an extended cab vs. a crew cab. Hopefully, they stick the "baby Cummins" under the hood that rumor has been telling of.

But, I'll wait and see. First, I have to go to college, graduate, get my commission, and continue on from there.

It doesn't look too bad, but I always want to wait to see one in person before I decide. Doesn't matter anyhow, I'm a "HD" guy, and my '05 2500 will be paid off in about 6 months and from that point forward I'm saving the money for the "good" Challenger (as Hemiyellow put it - the 2010 / 11 model), or some other sports car as a weekend toy (maybe a Camaro if the Challenger ends up being an overweight pig, or a used C6 Z06, or if by some miracle I got some sort of windfall a Nissan GTR )....I do have to admit that the gauge cluster looks very nice, and the side storage system is a very good idea.

Last thing I want to do is take this off topic.

But why not have both (Hemi and Jeep)? A little steep though considering you can buy a brand new Rubi 2 door for about 30K.

Well... I don't know. I'm on a budget,truck payments for three more years at 580.00 a month, flue expenses averging 400.00 a month ( averg up to 3000 miles a month ) and a 1100.00 mortgage payment, dosent leave a lot to jump into a newbee 4rth gentruck ...

I will not go into a new truck up side down, no matter how improved it my be ...

Verry soon the new 09 Rams are gonna be old, time escapes quickly and Daimler chrysler can not set prices yet because they have to move out the last generation Rams.

The 2500 Ram is more my type of truck, and I still have 4 years warenty left on my 06, so it dosent make $$$ sense for me at this time ...

The '09 Ram is an interesting truck and I would consider trading up from my 3rd gen Dakota if they produced a Club Cab model again.

i agree. i'm hoping the quad cab goes back to the older style where it is one full door and then a small door that is on a suicide hinge.

I'll have one. Most likely a 2010 but I've gotta wait like some of the other guys on here. I'll let the stickers get softer and then see how the hybrid turns out. I'd like a powerwagon if possible but with over two years of wait time I'll keep putting money into my 04 ram and then see what happens.

one problem with this truck....i dont see it looking good with a major lift on it.. however i didnt really see that either with the new chevy silverado and i saw one the other day and it looked sweet... so i guess it'll grow on me when someone does it!

I wish theyd make a quad cab again, just not into 4 door trucks. Are they making one with a real bed? Havent seen any pics yet. At long last,the H in hemi doesnt stand for "Hype" anymore. Werent the Tundra and Titan both faster 0-60? The interior rules. Ill consider it down the road, I guess if they have an 8 ft bed I can live with the 4 doors. Those mega cabs just look silly, imo, witht that little bed. Its like, do you want a truck or a 4 wheel drive mini van?

if i didnt have a 1 year old 06, i would get the 09. i love the look and all the new tech stuff! probably look to pick up an 09 in 10, or a 10 in mid year!

I'll reallywant one of the V8CTD models...but not until they get all the bugs worked out though. Prolly round late 2010/2011...always gotta be careful with a first year run of a redesign on top of a newproduct (the V8 CTD)like a few others on here have mentioned. Ya you get the lifetime warranty..but do you really want to deal with the issues...if their are any, and im not saying their will be.....

Have you heard some of the horror stories about the Jeep Grand Cheerokes when they had their last redesign...i think it was 05?..not mentioning it to change the subject...just an example.

I'm going to wait on the CTD model as well. Hopefully there are no bugs in it so I don't have to wait on that either. I've got an 03 1500 Quad Cab with the 3.7L V6 ST model, so anything will be a step up for me. I'd like an SLT model, of course I'd LOVE a Laramie, but we'll see what I can afford when the time comes.

I think I read somewhere that the heavy duty trucks will not be ready in 09, probably like the CTDs in 02, carry over old body style??

My gut feeling is the HD trucks will not have a coil rear suspension, we shall see.

I may eventually. A friend at the dealership said the 09 change isnt gonna be done to the 2500/3500's just the half tons. With i had that new hemi in mine, lol can always use more power.

So, I wonder when they'll finally go back to a floor-mounted lever for the transfer case.

I just got off the phone with my grandpa, we were talkin trucks. He had 3 2nd gen v10's. Then downgraded to a minivan. He hasn't even seen the 2009 model yet because he's on vacation and doesn't have internet. But i told him about it, and he said he'll definitely have on by the time i'm 21 so we can toss some beers into the rambox and enjoy.

Ya , with gas prices and oil prices I planed on Going Green this year but the truck is not offered in that color yet!!!!

HAHA hell NO.. i was so amped about the new 09 wanted to trade in my 2004 4x4 and hope in i CANT BElivE what they did to the body! a little to f 150 for my taste... i guess the titan as my buy in 2009.. when i get a new truck... they are going the right way with the flex fuel things.. i love the lights on the 2008.. if they had the same body as the 2008/ older i would be happy! but the one shown to the the 2009 is just to work truck... and the in bed storge box? why the hell would somone want to tool box lid handing on the side of there bed! inside is great! I wanted to cry when i had my dreams of getting the 2009 crushed! and i dont know how they thing putting this truck out there is going to bring them bac((((( HAHAHAHA))))))))

If they would've just slightly increased the towing and payload and incorporated a true 5 or 6 speed tranny, I'd be sold. But for now, if I do get another truck it'll probably be a 2500 CTD.

Maybe the Tundra, but the Titan? Hmmm, maybe a hemi with 20" wheels and 3.55 gearing, which a number of them came with. Yeeuck!

I Love the new look. It took a while but they have grown on me. I would love to have one, don't need one, I have no car payments :Dand my 03 ram has no problems, so i won't be buying until I need one.

I was considering one. But now that gas is 4.30/gal for regular, It's just not practical. I think my 06 V6 dakota is a hog at 16mpg.

Dodge needs a pickup the size of the ranger or a bit smaller, with a decent powered 4cyl that gets good mileage.

Thats what I am in the market for. Think about how many others most likely are as well.

They say chrysler needs the ram to be a big hit, but with these gas prices, think about how many ppl that were going to buy it are no longer doing so.

I liek my 08 better than this but I don't hate the 09's. I may consider a new ram depending upon the speculated CTD in the half tons and what it is at that point. other than that i'm loving everything about my truck atm

I like them but I will not take the new model sticker price. So I will wait for them to offer cash off.

Also I like the way that R/T looked in the photo's I will most likely wait for that one. And hope they do something special for those. It is that or I am going to buy the 2010 Challenger.

I love it! I didn't think there would ever be a better looking truck than the 2002-2005's but they may have done it with the 2009. I'd love to have one but my 2002 is paid for and I'm not in a hurry to get a payment. Maybe a 2010 or 2011 down the road.
