This cant be happening[sm=boosign.gif]. With new owner Cerberus accounting for every penny, there apparently is mounting concern about the future of the Dodge Viper. Sources say Chrysler is prepared to "make an instantaneous decision" to discontinue the Viper, especially if it "no longer can deliver the desired halo effect."

2011, the Viper is done, no new line, just the current model for a few more years and then it gets the knife. Sucks, but hey, after a while, I'm sure they will either bring back a new car with the same name or something completely different that will make us drool just as much or more. Hopefully

One of the first things to go when a company is trying to go from a losing company to one that makes a profit is the fun stuff.

Look at Ford, they did the same thing with SVT. SVT was pumping out a number of cars (and a truck). Now it is religated to the GT500. I am not aware of any other production SVTs in their current lineup. Roush does not count, it is aftermarket.

Lets just hope they do not dig deeper into SRT. It is possible they will axe more SRT vehicles.

Once they rebound they will then begin pumping money back into the fun stuff. I would love to see a big CID Hemi in a 2 seater similar to the Cobra (no not the Mustang-Cobra, the 428 Cobra). Make it light, make it obnoxiously loud, make it way out there. Give me their engineers, I will give them the ideas of what to build and it will sell!
