It must have been either a 40 or 44 series flowmaster and/or had the cat removed. I have a 50 series on mine WITH the 5.9L and it sounds great but is not loud.

Never heard a 4.7 with an exhaust in person yet. Right now my 5.9 has a single to dual Flowmaster AT 40 and i love it. I have smaller diameter pipes from the muffler to tips and greatly reduces the crackle on decel withoutgaining pressure. The smaller diameter does not make it as loud as the other systems but the tone/drone is still there.. If i change over to larger pipes i will surely fatmat everything.

I've been wanting to do a "catback" dual system on my '99 5.9 but w/ the "Cuda style" cut outs and tips that I saw years ago advertised. Anyone recall the company or seen that set up since? I should have done it back then!!

Whats happening fellas?? Im looking to put a muffler-only flowmaster on my '04 hemi durango. Im not exactly all about going the cheapest route, but if I can get sufficient results from a $100 muffler install, im gonna go for it. Im sure it will sound pretty good, but I thought I would throw out the lure for opinions and see what I get.

'preciate it fellas.

p.s. sorry about any hijacking attempt, but it does kinda fall inline w/ the op's subject

I've got the super 44 series on my 4.7L and it sounds nice. I didnt remove the cat but it still sounds pretty loud.

If you hate the world, get what I got, a 29" long CherryBomb glass pack, I got an 01 with a 360/ 5.9L , had a flowmaster, this is much louder and the next step would be a staight pipe.

Price , a 2 1/2"center in 2 1/2 "center out Flowmaster Super 44 about 90 bucks via Jegs/ Summit

CherryBomb glass pack 2 1/2" in/out 29" long 25.99 at Checker/Kragen autoparts

Yup, yup...

I really want to get a dual exhaust on my D too. Anyone tried this themselves? Or have a ballpark idea of the average cost at a shop?

I was wondering if there was another type of muffler that sounds good and doesn't have the drone of the flowmasters. I have a 6m/o and i don't think i want to subject him to the interior resonance. I have had flowmasters on mustangs in the past and it is ok if you are just cruising around, but if you get out on a haul, it get irritating. just my opinion.
