trade it in for a hemi....i'm getting 19+ mpg on the interstate and 14-15 in town. The hemi's on average are getting the same or little better fuel mileage than the 4.7L.

At 10K I replaced the air filter with a K & N replacement filter. Drove to Yellowstone from Sheridan WY, and average about 21 mpg which included some really tough mountain driving. Overall I saw about a 1 mpg gain and is slightly more responsive from a dead stop.

I agree with the above. Put a K & N filter on my 4.7 when I bought it. Am averaging 21.5 on the highway and roughly 15 in town....which doesnt seem too bad to me especially for this heavy truck.
