Default 2000 intrepid 2.7 issue

i have a 2000 intrepid 2.7 that i was told had a blown head gasket. the oil is mixing with water. no big deal. the problem is that i have a leak near the t-stat housing near the bottom of the motor.( not sure if it has another one or not). there is a hole right beside the housing that looks like a machined ( no threads) hole and i am leaking antifreeze from there. the car runs perfect. when i did a pressure test only a small amount dripped from this hole but when it is running it is a stream coming from this hole. my question. what is this hole? is there suppose to be some thing in there to stop it up? any solution? any info about this would be helpful as i have no idea what this hole is for. thanks

The way the 2.7 is set up, may be the water pump causing that. And it is a big deal; coolant in the oil will eat the bearings of the rotating assembly in short order.

As faras your hole, don't know. The next time I have a 2.7l LH in the shop, I'll check on that.
