Default What Voids The PT Warrenty

Who knows what mods or anything else that can void out your PT Warrenty?

Anything that requires you to crack open the engine: cams, forged pistons, etc. What it comes down to is that anything that hurts the engine can IF they can prove that is what actually hurt the engine.

Bolt ons, such as the CAI's, exhaust, maybe the odd S/C, won't... unless they can prove it. That's the law.

Pulling fuse 17 turning the wheel to lock in one direction, and mashing the gas pedal to the floor, and hold it there, until you run out of gas.

That will void the Warranty []

It depends on your dealer. Some owners get by with exhaust, intakes, headers, and high flow cats while others void the warrenty with just an intake.

I agree it depends on the dealership and how "by the book" they want to be. Remember the dealership isn't voiding your warrenty their just refusing to submit a claim, you might have to get a regional DCX rep involved and they would be the ones that could void the warrenty.

I recently went in for the old trunk rub and to get the tranny fluid changed. They said my tranny was leaking and wasn't covered due to all my mods (headers/cam/tuner...). The leak was the dreaded o-ring that 90% of these cars get. After a little talking with them they decided to invest the 30 minutes it took tofix the issue.

I just found out that the Dodge dealership I go to said just about anything can void your PT Warrenty. I think the PTW is really for people who don't really care for putting mods on there car really except for rims. I have a feeling that the only way around it is by spending a little extra money for the OEM mod partsfrom the dealership. Someone had told me at the dealership that they had someone come in and he got a new aftermarket stereo system for his car (not sure which one) and he started to have electrical problems from other components and just from that voided his warrenty. I even heard you can still get away with somepre-owned Dodge cars with the PT Warrenty it really depends on the car and mileageyou would have to get the VIN checked through the dealer.

PT Warrenty or not I still want to trade my SEfor the packaged R/T next year.
