Default What oil to use? Or is best?

I live in Northern Ca. where in the winter it's between low 20 degrees F andlow 40 degrees F in the morning; in the summer mid 50 degrees to low 70 degrees in the summer. I have a Durango with 16,000 miles 2000 SLT 4.7. Got my oil changed with a blend (Synth/Conv.) 10W 30. Was that the best route to go or should I consider something else.

I don't travel far (10-20 miles per trip)or tow anything.

Default RE: What oil to use? Or is best?

5W-30 is recommended for the 4.7 engine. Probably be a better route as it gets colder as well.
