I was on a performance parts web site looking for performance mods. I clicked on programers and one came up. The Superchips Cortex. Has any one heard about this? It says that it works on 05-07 dakotas with the 3.7 or 4.7.

yeah,  they get your hopes up...  its not for our trucks.  So far Jet is the only option.  There is a tuner out, but i cant remember who sells it and I am almost certain its 500-600 bucks...  (which isnt bad, but I cant remember the brand.)

sct tuning has supported the 05-07 daks but it still is in the developing stages. depending on when the truck was built late 04 early 05 still working. later 05 and up has been done but not perfected.

I posted a link on the mod thread for a Jet module for a little over @200 bucks.

I called the guy at Performance Products to find out what the scoop was on this. His line was that it was a "misprint". As far as I know, a misprint is a typo. This was no typo. The offer was clearly for 2005 3.7& 4.7 Dakotas for $499. I suggested they pull this thing ASAP. because there is no programmer for our trucks, PERIOD!  Another aftermarket outfit called The Parts Bin tried to pull something similar(the Hyperpaq).
I strongly advise anybody who finds programmers supposedly for our trucks at any aftermarket website to check at the manufacturer's website be it Superchips, Hypertech or whatever. Do not order!

That's disheartening they'd try to pull that if this is bogus (which odds are it is).  I've ordered from those guys a few times before and always been satisfied with them but that's just not good business practice...

    Message: hi there,

was checking the website of one of your resellers
(http://www.performanceproducts4trucks.com) and did a search for compatible products with a 2005+ dodge dakota and they list the cortex performance programmer model 3950 however when I checked your site it doesn't show as a supported product.....any comments?  do you make a tuner that works with the generation 3 dakotas (2005 - 2007, 3.7 and 4.7)?

    THX

I e-mailed superchips and got some dissapointing news:

Yes, that project got pushed back for other priorities, so hopefully we
can get those out this year. I am hoping just as much as you are,
    believe me!

At least they still plan on making them, its just a matter of when.

It's still the same old crock of s*** responses from most of these aftermarket manufacturers: no plans at this time; 1st,2nd,3rd 4th quarter of next year, next month; in 3months; in 6months; not enough demand. Take your pick. All this B.S. sound familiar? Pathetic.  See my post (today,1/9)about Bilstein shocks.
