i have a '90 dakota with the 3.9 L V6. i have just put on the following: K&N stock size air filter, new conrad rotor and cap, bosch double silicone wires, bosch platinum plugs, and a new throttle position sensor. i had had troubles before with gas milage and decided to do a tune up and performance got no better, so i decided maybe the computer needed reset. i disconnected the battery for a half hour and now the thing sounds like crap. does anyone know of any little important steps i need to know of for reseting one of these things. also, i has a tbi injection system that is running very rich and i don't know why. thanx for any help.

did you try an oxygen sensor? that improved my gas mileage about 70 miles. the most common thing are the damn sensors. if one thing isn't working right the whole thing could be screwed.

To reset your PCM just disconnect it for 30 seconds and plug it back in. If you did any mods give it 100 to 500 mile to "relearn" everything depending on the mod!!

Yep... it'll run rough until it 'remembers' the new settings...

thanx guys. it's been about 500 miles and it's doing fine.  although i have a little problem with the oxygen sensor....uh it can't exactly function correctly because i replaced the muffler with a glasspack after the catalytic converter shot it's guts into the muffler, and i didn't have the 185 bucks for a new cat....so it's just a glasspack exhaust. call me bad
