Who has compared the Magna Flow and Borla exhausts-cat back for 2006 Charger RT.  Only a $200 difference in price- is the 200 worth it? I don't know jack about  new exhausts. Dealer is trying to sell me on magna flow and see most of the discussion in here on Borla. Listened on 1 web site the Magna Flow and was disappointed. I want a deeper louder sound at idle as well as when I open it up. And what about interior noise on the hiway? Typically run 70-80 mph on trips. So 2000-2500rpm. Any suggestions asap would be great. Looking to get it done Dec. 1. Anyone know of any audio clips for Borla?

Okay, I better explain a little more on the Borla vs MF. I drive on the hiway ALOT. I just spent an hour and a half reading about the drone on th MF. Makes me not want to put an exhaust kit on at all. My plans are to get headers later. Now I have a headache, much like I have heard in the forum I'll get from the MF on the hiway.

For me, the extra $200 was worth it. Borlas are stainless steel. In the driving range that you mentioned, the drone will drive you nuts.

The Magna Flows seem to be more readily available through the common sources and seem to have a greater profit margin for the seller so they can cut the prices more. My installer let me drop ship the Borlas to his shop for installation. He has also had some fitting problems with the Magna Flows in other new vehicles (Chevy SSR's for example) and has become more open to the other brands. He likes keeping his customers happy.

I have an 06 R/T with Magnaflow.  My advice - GO BORLA!!!  I thought the "Hemi drone" wouldn't bother me, but I'm now rethinking that idea.  The Magnaflow is also stainless steel, and I had no problems whatsoever installing it - by myself - in my driveway one afternoon.  But, the drone is starting to get on my nerves and I may, I just may, ditch the whole thing and pony up for another exhaust system.

This isw just my opinion...  I have heard the Borla and the Magnaflow.  I think both sound strange and make it sound more like a Jap car.  It matters on what sound you are looking for.  if you want old skool muscle sound I would go with Flowmaster or JBA, they sound great and iare not too loud.  I replaced all mine with SRT exhaust and have no CATS.  Mine sounds close to the JBA sound but there is no drone at all.  I hear the MDS kick in and I get a rumble from the exhaust.  Its only slightly loud when you are at WOT.  Really I want louder...  I want all out raging V8 HEMI noise!  So I will replace my cat back with JBA 3" or just have some Flowmasters installed with no resos.

Those who say there is drone, how loud is it?  My friends 70' Roadrunner with a 440 and 3" exhaust hase drone when slightly excellerating and it is slightly anoying...  But I have neard heard anything like that from mine and I just drove it 2,000 miles and could barely hear the engine.

Hey streater,

If you really want old school sound, you need to convert to dual quads with open element filters or velocity stacks. That 4 barrel moan when you kick open the secondaries still gives me chicken skin after all these years.
