2.2 TI Question - 11/20/2007 5:01:42 PM    91irocdaytonaman   Posts: 5 Joined: 4/7/2007 Status: offline I just bought a 1987 Shelby Z from a junk yard with  2.2 Turbo I  w/ auto trans, mileage unknown due to missing cluster (150,000 approx.). The interior is pretty well trashed anyways. I'm taking the rear quarters (They aren't rusty) for my 91 Iroc Daytona. My question is what car will my 87 2.2 TI Engine drop into without too much trouble. It doesn't even have to be a daytona. I'd like it to be a daily driver with a little get-up-and-go. Didn't the Turbo II only come with a 5 spd trans? This 87 is an auto. I know TI's came with an auto trans or 5 spd. Right? (in reply to 91irocdaytonaman) Post #: 5

I think you could get the t2s in a auto, but I am not sure. My area of experience is the dohc 2.2 motors. I just recently got my 87 shelby as a winter beater. Hope this helps.
