Hey guys, first post here.

Really interested in the charger r/t, but am even more interested in a vehicle that I can control in adverse weather.  What are your guys views on awd chargers vs rwd chargers?

Did a quick search around these forums - didn't see anything really regarding the topic.

thanks,
dan

Well for control in bad weather can't really beat an awd car. The awd versions are slower in 1/4 mile but alittle quicker going 0-60 by a few tenths but won't handle as well as the rwd due to its alittle heavier. And lastly the awd models will get slightly lower mpg then the rwd but nothing major.

Was pretty close to picking one up, but missed an obvious detail.  The awd r/t is not offered with the r/t r package which includes the 20" rims, spoiler etc.

There is a cost difference, which would allow me to pick my own 20" rims and add a spoiler when able.  Tough choice.

Any suggestions?

I wouldnt go with the AWD because of the ride hight and its almost impossible to lower it at all.  My stock charger has a 3 inch gap between the tire and fender.  The AWD drive is more that 4 inches... LOOKS terrible.  But it might help in bad weather. I always wanted to test drive one.

I think that the Charger does well in most weather.  Mine drives well on ice and snow but does have trouble stopping.  I say get snow tires or chains...
