Looking for some input before going to the stealership. 2nd gear has been a little 'rough' to shift into. both upshifting and downshifting. its rather obvious that it dosent like to go into that gear as much as the others and colder weather makes it more prevelant. you gotta 'push' on the shifter a little more as it goes into gear. Yes, the fluid has been changed in the last 1k and it hasnt helped 2nd out. (I change the fluid every 15k). Im thinking its the synchros, in fact, almost certain that is all it could be. and with 31k on the clock I want to get it taken care of soon.
anything else I could consider before taking it in?
anything they may bitch/gripe about with my mods or the fact I change my own fluids?

thanks yall

They will probably just push you out the door with "no fault found".

^like when my TPS was having issues... it tookseveral trips to the dealership before it was fixed right[:@]

trip 1: replaced plugs/wires (speaking of which, i should check on them soon) -also advised them of reading about the TPS issue on the forums and how it seemed like that was the problem. picked up the car and at the first redlight a mile down the road... it was reving itself up

trip 2: replaced TPS - went to pick up the car and it started f***ing up in the parking lot of the service dept. i took the keys right back inside... "i thought you said it was fixed?" they didn thave time/parts to fix it again. oh, an no loaner cars here buddy

trip 3: replaced TPS wiring / harness. finally... i picked up the car and it actually ran right

cant wait to deal with them on the transmission... im going to lose my mind if they call and say there is nothing wrong with it. 'so, if i take it to Dasher's garage right down the road, and they fix my transmission... are you guys gonna cover the bill under warranty? seeing as your too incompetent to fix it?'

ahhh..... breathe in, breathe out
sorry, but i hate going to the dealer

hahaha... dealer's are good for a lot of things, but major problems under warranty aren't what they make money on. They were ignorant about the tps issue..... that's why things like that even under warranty I do myself. Depending on what type of warranty it is, some independant shops can work with them.

yeah, its just aggravating when you know what the problem is, you want them to fix it... but they hem and haul around, not wanting to listen, just doing their own thing.

just called... oh lord i need to find reciepts for my trans fluid. GEEZE

try and remove any obvious aftermarket engine upgrades before trying to go and get them to drop the tranny.
i had to turn one down for a guy having Nitrous in the car... still hooked up and valve open...
complained of a clutch slipping... well durr if you are pushing out like 500HP

yeah, i dont think that any of the little mods i have would be at all related to the synchros... but anyhow, i did call the dealer. they said they could drop the tranny to 'look at it' if it was a warranty repair... good. but if they didnt find anything that would be a warranty repair i would have to PAY for the transmission droppage... hell no. my next question would be... how hard is it to drop a tranny in my own garage?[8D]

there is a yellow srt4 around here that brings his own tranny in for input shafts every now and then...mopar stage 3, huge turbo, alot of serious expensive upgrades...
and i get about 3-4 hours each time to take apart and install shaft, instead of like 8 to pull it out, etc

he brings it in about every 4-5 months lol

at $88/hr he saves alot
its not really that hard.

Our cars trans are pieces of crap. A lot of people have particular trouble with 2nd gear, if you have warrenty take it in, if not you will probably have to deal with it.
