Default Exhaust

Hey I want to now what you guys think on putting a single exhaust on my 94tt, because my friend has one I can get for free and I think its either a Greddy or Apexi, 3" piping and either 4 or 5" tip, its just the muffler and pipe.

Would really like to hear some tips and what kind of sound it would be

I wouldn't go about putting a single exhaust on a turbo, pretty sure you lose power from it.

It's different when you have a twin turbo V6, a single exhaust wouldnt help you. It will just kill your performance, but I could be wrong.

3" single should work fine
3" dual would probably work better.
Bigger diameter generally moves power band into the higher rpms

so if what you guys are saying is right then why do twin turbo supras with over 1000hp and 300zx twin turbos and pretty much any other top end import like skylines only use a single exhuast just big piping to a big can on the back. hmm sounds like you guys are wrong to me were talking about imported cars not some trans am or sumthing with duals. Im hudge into imports and ive never had a shop recomend me or any other turbo cars yes including tt stealths a dual exhaust. you can y pipe it if you want but theres nothing like a big can on the back along with the sounds of a bov........ mmmmmm

Yeah but supras are pieces of ****, never once seen a single exhaust on any twin turbo car. I mean if you goto the tracks nobody will even have their exhaust on unless their a street car. I would go about asking more people, I still say single exhaust on a TT will give less power then a dual.

Default RE: Exhaust

There is nothing wrong with a single exhaust that is sized properly for the engine.
For our tranversly mounted engine, single exhaust is actually better than a true dual.
Most cars that have a catalytic converter, are really a single exhaust anyway, they are just split at the back for the illusion of dual exhaust.
A larger exhaust does free up top end power, but generally robs low end torque, especially on a non-turbo application.
Supra's are fine automobiles that can create a crazy amount of power and have a pretty bullet proof engine, they are far from pieces of ****. They also have an inline 6, it would be assinine to not run a single exhaust.

Hey eveilzombie I dont know what your talking about but all the twin turbos are most single exhaust. Look at the Supra, Rx7, skyline, and OTHER cars, if you maybe have a V8 and run straight piping then you go with dual exhaust.

Anyways thx "the stealth" But I already put it on today, and it sounds nice notto loud but nice and aggressive. About the power I actually feel a smother ride and better at high end.

LOOKS NICE TOO SINGLE CONVERSION!
