I had a few people ask me to post pics of what exactly I did/added to the interior of my car so I decided to post some pics..

Some of the things added are an iPod mount, handheld computer w/ wireless mouse/keyboard/internet, Dual Layer DVD burner, Equalizer, Subwoofer volume control knob, Secondary external iPod cable, external USB sound card, ScanGuage II trip computer, Power inverter, 4 way power splitter, 5 way aux input, Aux ground, Subwoofers & amp, 200 GB external hard drive, and a few other things.. I just purchased a 5 Farad capacitor which should arrive tomorrow to add to the amp..

The cool part about all of this junk is I only had to drill one hole which was to fix the Aux jack hum I was getting so its all easily removed with no damage to the car..

ScanGauge trip computer, Bass control knob, and iPod gooseneck mount.. Pay no attention to the recorded speed :)

General overview of everything

Sony SVUX handheld computer on a custom gooseneck mount. I masically mounted a docking port to the gooseneck by machining a few parts.

All the accessories at night.. Sorry about the blur.. my camera wasnt working so great when I took these pics..

Re-routed Aux jack and iPod

Dual Layer DVD Burner/Player.. FreeGIG can blow me!

I kinda ran out of room so I mounted the EQ head in the chill zone since I wasnt using it anyway. I routed the cord through one of the existing holes, then snaked it down. The base unit is mounted under the dash to the far right side.

Close up of the head unit.

Passenger side view.

Secondary iPod cable for when I want to change music by holding the iPod in my hand.

ScanGauge II trip computer in Gauge mode

Line out level converter mounted in the trunk under the carpet.

Amplifier and wiring attached to the back of the sub box.

The trunk view of the subs.

Thanks for the props :) By the way.. Its not really as cluttered as it appears.. I don't use the iPod gooseneck because I find it inconvienient to reach over to change songs so I use the secondary white iPod cord and just remove the iPod gooseneck and leave it off which makes the car not look like its full of crap as it does with the iPod gooseneck installed :) Thought it would look cool hooking it back up for the pics but I think it just adds clutter.

I would have loved to have found a more professional place to mount the DVD but I just couldnt find a suitable place for it since its so deep.. Think my next car should be a minivan with lots of places to mount junk.. on second thought.. um.. nah .. cant do the minivan thing :)

The Capacitor I ordered just came in today.. I dont know if its necessarry to post pics of it installed or not but heres the link so I can slack and skip the pics unless someone is actually interested in seeing it installed :)

I have the computer set up to use shortcut keys so I can have it do complex functions at a single key press and I don't write books or anything while I'm driving so its actually safer than it looks :) I also rarely have the computer, radio and the iPod all hooked up at the same time so I am really just using one gadget at a time which just requires a quick glance.. But I have had movies playing on the computer many times while driving to work without issue.. just a glance her or there to get the idea and that's it its really no different than checking a gauge or changing a climate setting..  You just have to have self control and know when driving conditions permit a quick glance (Not when cars are directly in front of you and especially not when they are frequently braking) :)

I really don't have a need for the iPod anymore either since I have a 200GB hard drive hooked up to the computer which has my entire music collection on it as well as a bunch of ripped movies..There's a bunch of games in there too but that's one thing I don't do in the car :) First person shooters tend to require more attention :)

I wasn't going to bother posting a pic of the capacitor but the thing has so many damn lights that I think I will.. I have to leave my back seat up cause the lights are blinding.. they must have put more than 50 high intensity LED lights in that thing.. and they are all blinking at different rates.. I keep thinking I'm getting pulled over by a cop when I leave the seat down lol

Oh and I did the dumbest thing of my life the other day when I was installing the capacitor.. I disconnected the amplifier positive lead using a metal screwdriver without disconnecting the power to the wire..Yup.. you know that happened.. Big spark, POP!, and tons of smoke pouring out of my amplifier.. I sooo know better than that but I did it anyway because I was in a rush.. I thought that was it for the amp but surprisingly it still works even though it smells like fried electronics.. The bass sounds different now so I think I may have fried something in there but not serious enough where the amp won't work.. so it looks like I'm going to be buying a new amp soon cause I'm not happy with the bass now..

OMG!   You have about ~230GB of memory in your car.  That's more than most people have for their computers...lol.  Clean install by the way.  What is the trip computer thingy wired to or is it standalone?

The trip computer plugs directly into the ODBC II port on the driver side and doesn't require any power, grounding, or wiring aside of simply plugging it into the port. It shuts down automatically when you shut the car off.. Probably one of the simplest accessory installs I have ever done..
Just had to run the wire and plug it in.

I like that the trip computer can diagnose trouble codes as well which should come in handy later on down the road when the car starts falling apart :) Well.. Finishes falling apart :)

But its fully customizable from the gauges it displays to the backlight color.. Im pretty happy with it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested.
