Default why the rush over the srt-4

Im just trying to find out what the huge rage over the srt-4 is all about, is it cause its not an import? Im asking as ive a old twin stick turbo colt and I keep smoking these srt-4`s and hell mines a dodge....so what gives? No ive never driven one but have smoked four.

Is it cause thier semi cheap and workable for upgrades.......sorry all who reads this im just not too up on the newer rides....Im not sure what they run but I run 13.2 to 13.6 depending on how I adjust the fish valve on my wastegate.

the SRT-4 is so popular for several reasons, I think:
1) It is dodge's (belated) response to all these hot little imports on the tuning scene
2) it is hellaciously fast for the money
3) it's very nice to ride in/drive (i've driven one, they're fun)
4) they were pretty much a shoe-in for the aftermarket market (heh, fun words)

the problem was, dodge didn't offer a performance car(not a real one) in a reasonable price range for most people, so they solved it.

Cause driving it gives you a rush....

Too hard to explain.....you've gotta drive one to understand.

This appears to be a Colt....sorry but our cars just look so much better, I don't care HOW fast this thing is.

Well... cheep for what you get, easy to upgrade, great driveability (solid cluch, great seats), handles high speeds way better than i thought it would, well enough for me to take this pic... and gets there pretty quick. the only thing i have a problem with is its 1st gear sucks ass. and a lot of people that have them dont know how to handle its low end torque. ive yet to loose a race to one eather. even when i was stock i took ones with upgrades. so you might just have ****ty drivers where your at, but low 13's are nice times good job.

Your turbo Colt must be well modified to be able to run mid-low 13's, since they have only 135 horsepower stock. The SRT-4 turns 13.9 @ 103 MPH stock. The Colt is 95% Mitsubishi whereas the SRT-4 is only about 5% Mitsubishi (turbocharger only). The SRT-4's popularity is from it's performance, price and the fact that it is a domestic. It is the fastest FWD car that Chrysler has produced and it is out performing cars that are twice it's price, while also having a 7/70,000 warranty ('03-'04, the '05 has a lesser warranty).

Don't forget the 2.2 turbos of the late 80's. We had them running low 13 high 12 with simple mods. And my Spirit R/T ran 13.99 all day stock. Chrysler was ahead of their time but didn't know it!
Got to love those turbo front drivers! If I didn't have a need for a truck, I would've bought the SRT-4.
