I'm a service writer for Chrysler and was standing under my car today as they were fixing my trans plug connector that was leaking.  Anyways, I was noticing how when they built the car, they have 2 rubber driveshaft isolators, one in rear  on diff and one in front to trans.  I got to looking at them and they have already started to crack around the holes where the bolts are from the torque.  I believe their purpose is to reduce drivetrain vibration and was told that Mercedes uses them.  I think this is a bad design, especially if they are starting to crack and the vehicle only has 57k on it.  I'm thinking about having a machine shop make 2 of them out of steel or aluminum.  Any opinions on this?  I also believe the car would be quicker off the line if there were no rubber components in between, just my own opinion.
