Default Wierd Heat Problem

I bought my 87 3.9 last year in august and I knew that it had a heating problem. I just always said i would fix it. Well over a year later, i never figured it out. My blower works perfectly and it even works if i unplug the resistor thing on the passenger fire wall. What my problem is, i cant choose where i want my heat to come out. It comes out a mixture of the defrosteres and the floor. More floor than anything. Now the thing is, i would really like to be able to have panal and be able to just use the defrostors, because i feel the floor is taking about flow to the defrosters.

So heres my question. What should I be checking to see why I dont have a choice of where my heat comes out?

Thanks

The doors for the diretion of the air is controlled by vacuum, off of the engine intake manifold. You may have the hose disconnected under the hood or under the dash. The hose is located on the firewall right next to the heater hoses. A small hose. Check to see if that is connected if it is look under the dash. There are several hoses but some may be hidden just check what is visable first. It may also be posible that the doors are stuck open like trash or leaves. Or the door acuators are faulty. But check hoses first!

Alright so your saying there is a line near the heater hoses. I will check tomorrow. I believe i have a vacuum line that is just pluged into that thing on the driver side fire wall and isnt connected to anything on the other end. Its connected to that piece that just has random lines plugged into it. I have alot of time to check it tomorrow so i will go through what you said. Any other things i should check?
