Won't shift out of 4-hi or lo to all-wheel! HELP!!
My 01 Durango R/T won't shift out of 4-wheel drive modeback to All-wheel drive. I have done everything in the owners manual. I can hear shifting but when I test it by backing out of the driveway and turning one way or the other, I can hear the tires rubbing on the concrete and feel it in the steering wheel. The light comes on solid like it's supposed to but it's definately still in 4-hi. I've never had any problems with the driveline before. Anythoughts more than welcome. Also any pricing for repairs would be helpful.

Luckily for me, I still have the trusted manual shift stick on the floor instead of the electronic knob.

Check this other recently posted thread. It may or may not solve your issue.

You could have a problem with the TCCM transfer case control module. If you still have any warranty on it I would take it in.

EWR:
Try a PCM system reset which should also reset the tccm. Disconnect the negative (or positive) battery terminal, then depress the brake pedal for a good 1-2 minutes. Then reconnect the terminal and hopefully this will be the fix. If not, could be the shift motor or the tccm like MT said. Don |
