So I gave my car the full hand wash and wax, in preparation for winter. Hate the idea of snow and ice freezing onto the finish without some layer of protection.

This is the first time I ever did a wax on a car, besides the small debadging task. What does everyone think?

Looks great! I'm have to finish my car pretty soon. I already have the sealant on and then I'll use a wax. Then I use a Chemical Guys product that cleans in between washes and it puts an extra shine to it. I'll have to make sure when It snows not scratch the car up like I did with my Daytona last year. I was chipping the ice off the rear tail lights with a scraper and cracked the light. I get careless once in awhile. lol

Looks great.. Waxing is always a good idea before winter to help protect your finish.. Im planning (Weather permitting) to keep washing and waxing the car throughout the winter.

The car just looks so much better with wax on it and tar/bugs/ice/snow/dirt don't stick to your car as easily so its a lot easier to remove all that stuff after the car is waxed. I have also noticed that the car is slightly harder to scratch with wax applied.

I went a little nutty with waxing my car.. I waxed every exposed painted metal surface.. including the inside of the trunk, under the hood, inside the doors, and all water drainage channels. but its kind of cool after it has rained out and there is water all over my car... I just hit the gas and all the water flies off lol

By the way.. If you have the time, Wax your rims.. It makes the rims sooo much easier to clean as brake dust won't stick to it as much.

Rust is a sneaky devil. I wax also the inside of the doors, etc. Also for anyone who doesn't fix down to the metal scratches that's an invitation to rust. I have two I have to fix before winter. I learned that with my other cars. I got lazy and said I'll wait. Big mistake.

By the way.. I was in the auto parts store the other day and saw this rim brush that hooks up to a cordless drill
http://www.autobarn.net/laitner-power-brush.html

I bought it just to satisfy my curiosity and I was sure it would be a piece of garbage that I would use once then have sitting in some dark corner of my house for decades until I eventually threw it out.
But the brush actually works awesome.. I did all my rims in under 5 minutes and they came out cleaner than if I spent all day with a qtip cleaning the rims.. I didn't need to use any wheel cleaners other than soapy water, its easy and fun to use and I saved so much time.. The bristles are soft so there were no scratches.. You and the drill stay dry but I cant say the same for bystanders if you push the button on the drill too hard :) (I was having a little fun with my wife)

I just thought I would mention it because I have seen this product before and walked past it so many times in the past because I though it was too gimmicky  but it was actually worth the $.. Way better than sitting outside with a manual rim brush for 30 minutes..
