The front end swap no clue.

And yes, you can put a 1st gen engine in a 2nd gen.

You can...but its a PITA. I looked into it. Its more work than its worth unless you have free parts.

It's not any more difficult than doing an engine swap on a 1st gen.

They are pretty much the same engines.

Good luck getting the sentry key to work with a first gen.

I don't see why he'd have an issue. My buddy's 2k has had it's engine swapped a lot and it's got the sentry key.

Stock.

He did end up doing something stupid one time and ruined the PCM, but that was a completely different scenario, I think he was trying to bypass the sentry but found it didn't work.

Okay...was it a dual cam or single cam first gen? Dammit...it posted before I was done. But...did he swap a sohc or dohc head on it. I was lookin at the dohc head swap...but my sohc pcm wouldn't really take advantage of it...and I couldn't find a way around the computer problem/sentry key. So I'm keepin it sohc...

Why does that matter? You can put a 1st gen engine into a 2nd gen.

It was an R/T engine.
