Transmission disengaged???? - 10/12/2007 7:14:11 AM    mjcolemo   Posts: 1 Joined: 1/13/2007 Status: offline I have a question regarding a problem I experienced with my 2006 Charger Daytona.  Yesterday I was accelerating down an on ramp, when without warning the transmission disengaged!  The engine revved up and down several times, but none of the power was going to the back wheels.  I shifted into neutral as I was coasting at about 50 mph, and then back into drive and the transmission reengaged.  It drove fine after that!  When I got home, I decided to check the transmission fluid level but it would appear that the transmission is a sealed unit, because where the dipstick would go is a plug that says for dodge service use only.  Has anyone out there had a similar experience, and if so were you able to get it resolved? I haven't experienced that yet but can relate with the "where's the dipstick for the tranny?".  I still haven't heard of a good reason for DCX not to install one. (in reply to mjcolemo) Post #: 2

You maybe low on fluid. Ck under the car at the trans pan see if you trans fluid leaking. Its commond for the adapter housing to leak. Like Tech saib - if you have warrenty left get it to thedealer and be sure to tell them everything and to check the O-ring everyone is talking about. Otherwise they might try and stick it to you, if they are THAT kind of dealership. Not all are!! Check in the RECALL AND TSB section of the forums. Welcome to the forums. The one other thing that happened is that the check engine light came on at that moment. The next day I had the oil changed since it was due and the light went off.
