10 Green Dodge Cars and Trucks for St. Patrick's Day
Ferraris are red, Porsches are silver... How about a gallery of green Dodge cars, trucks, and vans to celebrate the emerald isle's favorite saint?
1. Hellcat with Scat Pack Girl
The Dodge Challenger is a throwback retro style, though the handling and power are strictly 21st century. This model is wearing a retro Scat Pack dress with mod go-go boots, but she's thoroughly modern too.
2. 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger Drag Racer
Back in the 1970s the Dodge Dart was basically a generic coupe/sedan that you would see on every street corner and in every parking lot. It was the Toyota Corolla of its day. This particular car has taken the Dart's strong points (its light weight and V8 sized engine compartment) and added a whole lot of power thanks to a 440, which is a formula drag racers have been using forever. You can read all the details over on Mopar Muscle.
3. 1974 Dodge Dart Sedan
Now, this is the car most people over the age of 35 picture when they think of the words Dodge Dart, this color too. The slant six motor in these cars hardly made any power, but it would propel it at freeway speeds (eventually) forever without wearing out, as long as you occasionally changed the oil. These days, 40 years later, it is getting rare to see these around, but that doesn't mean they will ever be valuable.
4. Macho Power Wagon in Metallic Olive
This just shows how the same color can look very different on different vehicles. This green is nearly the same as that Dodge Dart on the earlier slide, but add some orange and black accents and it looks awesome. You don't often see the Macho Power Wagon in this color, but it looks great.
5. Charger Daytona
Really, this car doesn't need the high impact paint because it is impossible to miss. The winged wonders always make people green with envy.
6. High Impact Green Muscle
Yes, these are Road Runners, and not Challengers, but it is a great picture of the different green paints available in 1971. On the right is a Sassy Green (Plymouth) AKA Go Green (Dodge) and on the left is a Sublime AKA Limelight.
7. 1995 Nitro Yellow Green Neon
The Dodge Neon came in a bunch of wild colors, but the Nitro Yellow Green was the wildest. These cars were cheap, but they were surprisingly quick and competent in compact car racing and autocross. Can you imagine seeing one of these rolls across the stage at Barrett-Jackson in 2050 and fetch $100,000? Who knows, it could happen.
8. 1990 Dodge Dajiban
In Japan, there is a strange subculture that loves tricking out Dodge van and making it handle. The US military based there had used vans like these as basic transportation, but now guys build them with lower suspension, more powerful motors and sticky tires. Here's more info on this particular green machine at 9tro.
9. 1994 Dodge Ram 1500
When the new style Ram came out in the 1990s it seemed like every 3rd one was painted this dark green color. Sadly, the paint and the rustproofing was not quite as advanced as the styling and you barely see these at all anymore. These are sure to be a modern classic.
10. Viper GTS with an Irish Lass
What could be luckier on Saint Patrick's Day than an emerald green Viper GTS and a redheaded Irish lass? Happy St. Patrick's Day and the luck of the Irish to you all.
