Default Project SRT wheels

TodayI started the very timely process of making my srt wheels look nicer.

I think I leaked this out before but my plan is to have a polished face and to have in between the spokes being graphite.

I was only able to complete 1 wheel because the process in whichI wanted to do my wheels was a very long one, to be exact it took me 8+ hours to do this single wheel.

I started out with the most heaviest damaged wheel I had.( I'll call it wheel 1)

Beleive it or not, I hand sanded every single pit in the wheel from those curbs, and even sanded all the paint of by hand. Because I used my hand I didn't make any mistakes that I could have if the sander got away from me.

FirstI used 60 grit sand paper till I got close to the bottom of the scratches, then proceded in using 260 grit to sand the whole wheel down to get a smooth surface to start the polishing process.

Once thatw as all said and done I proceded in sanding, both wet and dry sanding.
first using 360 grit then going to 800 grit, then to 1000 grit, then to 1500 grit and finally to 2000 grit.
After all that this is what it looked like:

I wasn't impressed in how it came out the first time so i went back to sanding, from 800 grit all the way back up to 2000, but this time i spent alot more time to make sure it didn't come out this scratchy looking and got it to look like this:

It was polished using mother's billet cleaner before being painted.( was some expensive sh!t, $14.00 for 4 oz) But in that pic it wasn't, it took out all those scratches from the 2000 grit you see there.

SoI can start paintedI masked off all the area's of the wheels thatI didn't want to be painted graphite.

I admit the wheel looks nice in blue

Anyways I proceded in painting and got it looking like this:

Then cleared the painted parts of the wheel:

And thenI began unwrapping it like a 5 year old on christmass mourning and this is how it came out sorry about the bad pics i got done at 8:30 and it started to get dark, will have better ones up tomorrow)

1 more:

and a little teaser pic of what it will look like on the car:

ENJOY!

Wasn't tired at all, to tell you the truth, if we had 24 hours of sunlightI could have gotten 3 done!
But I was running out of materials, to get to it look like that its costing over 30 bucks a wheel.

yeah I know what you mean, All of that heat can make you not in the mood to do stuff to your car. I practically gave up installing my projectors today and said maybe ill do it another day...then out of the blue....a huge rain storm came. I immediately ran out and started working on the lights while wet.
It was fun!!!! lol

I guess the least you can do is find shade under a tree to do your work. Your sig look like there is a huge tree shadow right above your driveway.
